Data Pitch is a EU-funded open innovation programme bringing together corporate and public-sector organisations that have data with startups and SMEs that work with data.

It is centred around a competition with several tracks which describe challenges, and a virtual accelerator programme (6 months) to help startups and SMEs develop solutions to meet these challenges.

The startups and SMEs involved in the programme put forward proposals for creating high impact, innovative products and services in response to the challenges defined by Data Pitch. Successful applicants received an important financial and advisory boost to their idea, with support to develop a concept into a robust and sustainable business.

The aim of the assessment:

Data Pitch is an acceleration programme for small and medium enterprises that work with shared data. The programme has funded 47 SMEs through an accelerator and the objective of this work is to evaluate the overall success of the programme on impacting the triple bottom line, including modelling the potential long term impacts on programme participants and the data economy as a whole. In particular, the analysis should consider the impact of the programme on the participating SMEs and the organisations that shared data with them for the purpose of the programme.
